Visitation School CJSF
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
CJSF membership for trimester one of the 2019-2020 school year is now open to the current seventh and eighth graders. Grades that qualify a student for membership have to be earned during the student's seventh and eighth grade years. The report card the current seventh and eighth graders just received are their qualifying grades for trimester one.
The following courses are used to calculate the qualifying total of fourteen points:
Language
Reading/Literature
Science
Math
History
Religion
Spanish
Each "A" is worth three (3) points, each "B" is worth one (1) point, and "C" receives zero (0). Algebra is awarded an extra point as it is considered a high school course taken at a middle school level. A "D" or "F" in a class, whether on the subject list or not will disqualify a candidate for membership.
Please make a copy of your report card and include it with the application.
ESSAY GUIDELINES
Please answer the following prompt in one full typed page using proper MLA format (Times New Roman, 12 pt. font, double spaced, one inch margins). DO NOT COPY THE PROMPT ONTO YOUR SUBMISSION.

The minimum volunteer time is a half hour per week of the trimester, making it approximately seven (6-7) hours worth of service.
